Early Childhood Huddles

Term times:

The Early Childhood Huddle is a program for pre-school aged children (2-6 years old) that is run by a team of specialists – consisting of an Occupational Therapist, a Speech Pathologist and a Specialist Early Childhood Educator. The team works with you and your child individually as well as in a small group setting. The program is designed to combine individualised support for your child’s development with a small group setting to practise new skills and meet other families to form social connections and informal support structures.

The purpose of the Biala Early Childhood Huddle is to:

· Support your child’s development through a specialist, multidisciplinary approach
· Build your capacity to support your child’s development
· Foster social connections with other families

What is included in the Program?

The program runs for 10 weeks per school term. Each term the huddle groups will have a focus on a different developmental area.

Weekly - 10 sessions per term

End of Program -Summary report documenting your child’s progress against the Huddle outcomes and individual goals for your child, set together with your Key Worker.

Annually - A Family Service and Support Plan (FSSP) will be developed by you and your Key Worker when you first meet, to make a shared plan and set goals for your child.

This plan is reviewed on an annual basis.

Friday, 9.30am - 11.30am

Per Term (10 week program) = $3879.80. This will be billed at $387.98 each week. The Early Childhood huddle is billed as a Program of Support. As stated in the NDIS Pricing Guide, when you enroll in a Program of Support, you will be charged for all scheduled sessions (listed above), regardless of how many sessions your child attends.

Families who are joining a group for the first time are required to attend a 1:1 initial assessment session with a therapist/Early Childhood Teacher (ECT). This can be face-to-face, via telehealth or by phone.
