Biala Peninsula is excited to introduce its new Early Childhood Approach model of supports. An Early Childhood Huddle can be accessed by children aged 0-6 who have NDIS funding for Daily Living Skills (therapy).

Best practice research into Early Childhood Intervention tells us that when children receive their supports in the following ways children have more positive outcomes and experiences.  These include:

  • Receiving support that assists parents to build their skills to support their child
  • Access to a single keyworker with whom they build a trusting and collaborative relationship
  • Access to a team that work together to support the child and family with the Key worker acting as the co-ordinator

Families have also reported that when they have supportive informal networks around them they have a more positive parenting experience and feel that their wellbeing is also being supported.
